Robert L. Burns, Jr., DMD
Meet Dr. Burns
My name is Dr. Robert L. Burns, Jr. I was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. I’m a Board Certified Oral Surgeon who did my undergraduate training at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I received my Doctorate in Medical Dentistry degree from University of Kentucky in 1987. I completed a one-year general practice residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A true interest in surgery compelled me to begin a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. I then completed a fellowship in orthognathic surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and belong to a number of organizations: Brevard County Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
I have devoted my professional career to all aspects of oral surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of third molar extractions. To keep abreast of the latest developments in oral surgery, I have always exceeded the continuing education requirements of Florida.
My hobbies include fishing, boating and diving. I enjoy spending time with my four children.
